Class Update 7-24-2009  —   Stacy Hetchler, Jim’s son, who does most of the classes, will be the one teaching our September class.

OPLA’s September Hands-on Auto class will be held in Springfield, Mo on September 18-19, 2009. Jim Hetchler from Key Pro will be instructing a Friday evening class and an all day hands on class on Saturday. The Friday evening class will start at 7:00pm (registration begins at 6:30)  in the meeting room at the motel, and will cover tips & tricks on automotive key making. The latest technology regarding transponder systems will be discussed. Opening techniques will be discussed. Key generation and code locations, and the latest transponder and key generation equipment will be demonstrated.

The Saturday class will start at 9:00am (registration begins at 8:00am we will meet in the meeting room and then travel to the class site together) will be hands on, and held at a local junk yard or car lot. The class will be divided into pairs and given tools to use and will make keys for the vehicles themselves. There will be discussion and hands on on auto opening techniques. You will get to dissemble locks and make keys. Also you will get to use the latest in Transponder Technology and key generation equipment. Most techniques will show you how to generate a key for a car in under 10 minutes.

 

Class fee is $100 for current OPLA members. $150 for non OPLA members.   Class size is limited to 25 persons. Class fee must be paid in advance.   Class registration must be received by September 4th.
