OPLA History

Here’s a little OPLA HistoryThe Ozark Professional Locksmiths Association started as a group in the late 80’s.
Some of the original members included Reeve’s, Caseys, possibly Pat & Betty Gray and a few others.
Lowell Roberts wrote the constitution and bylaws.

On their fifth annual weekend retreat (March 1994), was held at the Inn of the Ozarks in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Our March 2009 class was held at the Krystal Aire Motel  in Springfield, Mo.


Our June Class was held on the 28th at the Hampton Inn, in Springfield, Mo. We had a DAMES class taught by Harry Sher. We had a good turn out for this class.


March 7 & 8, 2008 OPLA had a “Show & Tell” (aka Tricks of the Trade) sharing time at 7:00 Friday evening March 7. We meet in the hotel lobby.

Our Saturday Class was a Basic Safe Servicing Class taught by John Ruperd.

This was held at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Rogers, Arkansas.

Our Fall Trade Show and BBQ was held on Saturday September 29 at the LA QUINTA INN in Bentonville, Arkansas.
It was a huge success! A BIG Thank You to the suppliers that attended: Hans Johnson Co., HL Flake, ALOA, and Harry Sher. If I missed any please let me know.  A BIG Thank You to everyone who brought the yummy side dishes to go with the yummy smoked ribs & chicken!

The JUNE 2007 CLASS was held in Rogers Arkansas It was a Medeco3 Class. We had a good turn out and an excellent class. Thank you Sam and Jennifer!
